SLEEP – How much do we really need?
5 maybe 8 hours? Top entrepreneurs sleep for three to four hours and they are generally excited about that. Whereas some people need eight hours or they will be really grumpy
However your personal requirement for sleep is exactly that- it varies with the individual
The top entrepreneur who goes to sleep for three to four hours and will generally have a really deep sleep and is able to drift off relatively quickly – others will go to bed for eight hours and because they are worried / stressed or have financial / relationship problems etc they struggle to achieve deep sleep
The top experts say it’s not about the amount of sleep but the quality of sleep… if you wake up lethargic are you doing what you love? Something that excites you?
Think about the same people who get up for a holiday or an event, they will literally fly out of bed with excitement and doesn’t matter what time if the day it is. The big question therefore isn’t how much sleep am I getting but what is the quality?
Some of the general steps to improve sleep include not drinking coffee before bedtime, playing with your phone or taking sleeping pills because you’ll get addicted, but these are all very personal things. You may enjoy watching your favourite programme before or searching through social media before you fall asleep
My only real recommendation would be to do everything in your power to go to bed and be excited to get up… A great question to ask – What did I learn today? Am I grateful? What will I apply tomorrow?
Even if I’ve had a bad day – maybe I got a flat tyre or I recently put a few pounds on – I’ll be grateful because in know it’s in my hands to change it and ill be happy in the fact that I will always start a fresh tomorrow
You need to go to bed with a purpose, get up with a purpose and just enjoy going to bed. Indefinitely the best tip is to invest in a great bed- have a great bed and make that area of your home a relaxing place
