Simon’s support was as a corporate client and I wasn’t the only person Simon supported and trained. We decided to take part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks to raise money for charity and I was accompanied by seven colleagues who also benefited a huge deal from Simon support and advice. Some even alluded to that fact they they may not have been able to succeed without Simons help.

“I can’t do that”. Have you ever held yourself back due to fear of failure?

If the answer to that is yes, you don’t need to be ashamed, because you’re not alone. Out of the eight people we had in our team over 50% of them had concerns that they would not be able to complete The Yorkshire Three Peaks; but I’m happy to say after working with Simon and his expert advice all eight of us successful completed it, and furthermore really enjoyed it!

Simon’s initiall advice around 3 months before the walk was about making changes and sticking to those changes. Setting weekly targets such as, hours of cardio each week, introducing new foods, cutting out bad foods and the most effective one for me was aiming to do more than the week before. If we walked 2 kilometers one week aim for 3 kilometers the week after. It was these little changes and targets that made all the difference.

Twice a week Simon would travel to our offices to help us train, combining a variety of Hit training, Metafit, organised runs and cardio training. Alongside these classes Simon organised a number of practice walks at a weekend, smaller walks to get us used to the terrains, steep hills, weather conditions and resilience. Kinder Scout near the Peak District was one of my personal favorites!

Simon not only supported us from a physical perspective but also providing great advice on how to prepare for the day; the correct clothing, the correct footwear, what food to take, how much liquid we would needed and importantly what to do if we had any issues.

On the day we were faced with what I can only describe as truly brutal weather conditions. None stop rain, low visibility and difficult conditions under foot. This lasted for 12 hours and it was only because of the training from Simon we made to the end.

Not only did some of us overcome our fear and achieve what we didn’t think was possible but we also raise an impressive sum of money for charity. Our general fitness improved and we all learnt valuable intelligence to maintain it moving forward.

Simon taught me a lot of new techniques and training routines alongside showing me how to perfect my own gym sessions. Coupled with his excellent dietary advice it’s made a real difference to my fitness and general health. Essentially Simons help put me in a position, both physically and mentality where I could tackle the grueling task of the Yorkshire Three Peaks.

The next time you say to yourself “I can’t”…. Change it into an “I can”
