Pomegranate Chartered Consultants asked me to join them on a trip to Dubai, they were on a business trip, meeting contacts and making time as a team for some R&R.. I was invited with the task of giving some fitness classes and as I see it to break the up the group from accountancy ‘chit chat’.

The experience was incredible and inspiring, the city itself is a magnet for anybody who wants to think big. Innovation, design and the of thinking big is truly .

On one beautiful sunny morning I was enjoying some rest time around the pool before my afternoon fitness class with the group, part of the group had business in Abu Dhabi and as a self proclaimed ‘worrier’ I was doubting if the class would be any good maybe 40 degrees weather was too hot maybe i couldn’t function properly in the heat, maybe the group wouldn’t enjoy it.

On the lounger next to me I had with me a pen and paper and right there and then I sat up and wrote these three points down.

1. Relax and let go
2. Make the best of current experiences
3. Positively think forward

I repeated these words over and over to myself I must have said them at least 10 times and I jumped up and dived in the pool and keep my head under water for around 10 seconds, I emerged from the pool with a smile on my face (properly grinning), I had a look around and realised that I was in a special place where the temperature was 38’degrees and I had the chance to coach a fitness class with a company that had asked me to join them 6,000 miles away from Manchester. So what if it wasn’t going to be as good – turns out all the classes turned out fantastically well even in the blistering heat.

Furthermore trip made me realise where I am most content – I like to be fit and happy, and I believe happiness and fitness have the same fundamental basis
Happinesses and fitness a like has to be chosen every day, If you want anything to work you must practice everyday. You can’t just visualise being fit or happy, it requires daily discipline.  Spend time with people who make you happy, just like fitness you have to try to be happy, reflect, introspect, have compassion and share with people and convey the message, happiness comes with wanting happiness for others.
