Before Simons 6 week corporate package with our company I had allowed myself to slip into a routine of avoiding the gym and semi-regular takeaways. I had lost any semblance of fitness I may have had and topped out at 16 ½ Stone. I had been meaning to correct this slide but I needed something to kick-start a lifestyle change. When a “bootcamp” program was suggested at work, I thought it could be just the thing to kick-start a change.

Over the course of the 6-week programme I was able to lose 3.5kg (½ stone) from the weekly sessions and eating better.

Being able to have a regular session where me and my work friends were all there was such a motivator. The sessions gave you a real sense of accomplishment afterwards, and the sprinkling of healthy competition throughout the sessions meant that the experience wasn’t just being beasted by a drill sergeant. As the sessions went on, I found myself being more committed to attending the gym in my own time, and using the exercises taught in the wellness sessions in my own workouts.

Seeing the results and feeling the benefit after the 6-week course was the biggest motivator for me to make a real change in my own lifestyle. I wanted to take the changes further and do what I had been meaning to do for about 5 years, lose a good chunk of weight and make a permanent change to my fitness. Simon’s Corporate Wellness scheme was the catalyst for me to start following a diet plan, which has allowed me to lose a further 2 stone, lose 5 inches from my waist and I am now starting to attend the gym regularly to improve my body composition and fitness.
